Moving Back & Moving on.... For 2 City Employees

1. This morning we read that Danbury's Fire Marshall, Barry Rickert, has said
no to the job in Southbury and will remain active here in Danbury. Rickert has been with the city of Danbury's fire department for over 34 years and he has chosen to keep on going even though some retire at this stage of the game.

Danbury's Mayor Mark Boughton quoted in today's newstimes, "Barry does a great job," said Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton. "The citizens are well served. He's a professional and wherever he serves, he'll be a professional."

2. Today it has been made clear and official that Danbury's Finance Director, Dena Diorio will be leaving to take a similar job in North Carolina. Dena was a great asset to the city of Danbury since taking the postion in August 2002. Mayor Mark Boughton has said he will step up the time frame of dispursing the city's budget by a month so Dena, "
can oversee the process one last time."

To both Fire Marshall Rickert, and Director of Finance Diorio, we at Dbyblogger wish you much success and truly appreciate your endless efforts to the city of Danbury. Best of Luck!

Was the job in Southbury for Rickert a higher pay than here in Danbury?

This site is awful...nothing but a bunch of posts linking to articles (a monkey could do this).

You and the partisan DanburyDan complained about HatCityBLOG? At least he has original content and takes the effort to videotape the stuff he's talking about.

You have a LONG way to go and I'm sure you realizing how hard it is to maintain a blog on a daily basis.

to negative anonymous- I want to apologize for the fact that I have a life and that I can't spend all my free time going to community meetings and video taping them or posting 5 times a day or spend more than half of my life on a computer. You congratulate Hatcityblog on his efforts but you should keep in mind he is biased in the meetings he chosses to attend and what he chooses to post and video tape. We may have a bunch of links to articles but atleast we aren't pretending to post the "real truth" about Danbury. We are an honest blog that comments on true stories not made up ones or manipulated truths.

I would like to comment on the Hat City Blog.

Yes, it's updated on a daily basis, has great footage from events throughout the state.

But I stopped reading that blog when I realized why the heck is this man still living in Danbury...He has no respect for what goes on in the city, complains left and right about Danbury Officials well then does anyone else feel as though Danbury isn't the right place for him to be.

Remember this quote...be the change you wish to see in this world (Ghandi)

To Hat City Blogger: maybe you have enough guts to sit behind a computer screen and type in the negative all day and night but you certainly don't have enough confidence to publish your name, or even run for top office in Danbury...stop complaining about Danbury!

I think you are being alittle harsh on hatcityblogger, I personnally don't care for his blog but you have to give the guy credit for staying ontop of what he thinks is news and doing some cool video stuff.
