I did watch the council meeting and found it to be informative, with the Mayor's discussion on matters concerning the city well laid out so residents can get a basic idea of where tax dollars and grant money etc... are utilized. I must also admit that I was looking for the segment detailing the incident between the Mayor and Councilwoman Taborsak, as I had a tough time believing that it had occurred, and wanted to see for myself. It was obviously edited from the program. But if it did occur, I hope the Mayor takes the necessary steps to ensure it won't happen again.

Both the mayor and Taborsak were out of line and they have this fight at just about every council meeting. There is usually plenty of latitude given to council members during the reports and the mayor didn't like the fact that Taborsak brought up the Crosby Street apartments so he snapped and cut her off. If you watch the video, you'll see that Tom Saadi brings up the point about members having latitude during the reports.
This happens all the time between them because they really don't like each other. Mayor Boughton (like other mayors in the pass) has a really bad temper and a short fuse. Again, just look at the entire episode in context and not just cherry pick stuff just because you don't like Taborsak (probably based on her stance with illegal immigration). Bash her all you want but rememebr, this person was a State Rep, ran for Congress, and
received over 5,000 votes to win a seat on the council (and this is after everyone knew her past).
As a political family, the Taborsaks are pretty popular and I'm sorry to inform you but I don't see any Republican in a position to kick her off the Common Council (remember, she's an at-large member). Looking at the results of the 2005 election, I think the Republcians should worry about their own seats seeing that a majority of them barely won.
Taborsak is abusive and out of line. If you watch the meetings you will know that she routinely belittles Scott LeRoy and other department heads. She always tries to high jack whatever meeting she is at.
Remember this is a lady who proposed the "masturbation" amendment in the General Assembly.
The Mayor does give the Council some leeway, but Taborsak was so off target, I'm glad he shut her down. Fight? the Mayor is responsible for running the meeting and ensuring that the rules are followed. Taborsak doesn't follow the rules-she thinks they don't apply to her.
Popular?-Dream on. Even Democrats are saying they want her out and that she is an embarrasment.
Taborsak is very out of line.
It is the Mayor's job at the common council meetings to be the moderator and therefore he has to put a stop to any discussion that does NOT follow the agenda. C'mon Lynn you should know that by now.
Taborsak was out of line and the mayor is not fair. Saadi was right when he brought up his point that other members can pretty much say what they want during that time but Taborsak is an exception I guess. She will not lose this year, think about it out of the 20 people that ran for common council at large she got the most votes. Lots of people love her, lots of people hate her but maybe that is what you have to do to win at large.
Ok thanks anonymous (last comment) for telling me the reason to vote for someone is because 50% of people love this lady (hahah) and the other 50% hate her?

OK guy, I didn't say to vote for her I am just saying thats why she gets votes because people know her.
Taborsak (Lynn) has won big in prior elections. She is a bright woman nevertheless her efforts in supporting the illegal immigration makes us all wonder what this woman's motives truly are?
She has no motives that make sense. She should have just stopped when she earned her degree in plumbing!
