"We want to change the dynamic so that rather than just manage the problem, we end it," Boughton said.
"I think this is a great initiative," council member Ray O'Brien said.
What Boughton Wants:
- Homeless will get permanent housing, home ownership
- Homeless will receive aid from social services to keep them off the streets
- Homeless will obtain federal housing vouchers that allow them to move from the streets into their own homes. Vouchers are used to pay mortgages rather than apartment rent.
- Seek regional partners. Sherman has agreed at a cost of $1,300.

Good proposal for the city of Danbury. So sad to see the overwhelming amount of people at the shelters and roaming the streets during the day.
Boughton has been talking about the homeless problem for the last four years.
Political windowdressing.
Your just jealous that your boy Eriquez didn't think of it first. Nice work Mayor Boughton!
No other city/town has even come close to the planning and organizing that Mayor Boughton has started for Danbury when it comes to the homeless issue.
Glad to see articles in the Danbury News Times pertaining to the Mayor and the city that have more content in them than just illegal immigration.
So when Boughton isn't in office any longer how do we know the next mayor is going to continue the 10 year to end homelessness? Or is our money floating away once again?
Oh the $$$$ will be lost down the drain once again.
This end to homelessness is just another so called applaude for Boughton.
